Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Job Description

Adult Education Instructor Position Summary We are seeking an Adult English for Career Success Instructor to lead literacy classes for adult learners. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, a strong understanding of adult learning principles, and a commitment to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. This position will require approximately 5 hours per week, spread across 2 days per week, with work taking place in the morning, afternoon, or evenings as needed. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver instruction in workforce skills, digital literacy, reading, writing, and basic communication skills (resources provided) Assess learner needs and tailor lessons to individual goals and skill levels Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support learner success Integrate digital tools and real-world materials into instruction Maintain accurate records and contribute to program reporting for LCPB. Work directly with the LCPB Coordinator to secure data requirements. Adult Education Instructor Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds Familiarity with online learning platforms ESL or ABE certification is a plus What We Offer Supportive and collaborative team/individual training Opportunities for professional development Meaningful work that makes a lasting impact Flexible scheduling options Instructor is classified as a 1099 independent contractor, not an employee.
