Job Description

This position is an hourly FTE, grant funded position located at the Sphax Education Center in the Adult Education Department Responsibilities of the Arlington Community Learning Instructor Come Prepared and Organized Plan lessons and activities that are well-organized, engaging, and easy for students to follow. Prepare handouts, presentations, demonstrations, and other materials ahead of time so each class runs smoothly. Be ready to adjust instruction as needed to meet the interests and needs of the class. Create an Engaging Learning Experience Teach course content in a way that is clear, interactive, and enjoyable for adult learners. Encourage participation, questions, discussion, and hands-on learning whenever appropriate. Help students feel comfortable trying new things and sharing their experiences. Communicate with Enthusiasm Explain concepts clearly and patiently. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere where learners feel welcomed, respected, and supported. Promote the idea that learning can be enjoyable, rewarding, and a lifelong journey. Keep Track of Attendance Take attendance at each class session and submit records as required. Help ensure that class rosters remain accurate and up to date. Have the Right Tools Ready Make sure classroom materials, supplies, and equipment are ready before class begins. Check that any technology or special equipment needed for instruction is working properly. Notify program staff of any supply or classroom needs in a timely manner. Be a Positive Representative of the Program Arrive on time and ready to teach. Treat students, staff, and fellow instructors with professionalism and respect.
