Follow clearly detailed and specific procedures IAW SOP or similar written directive. Use the Government-provided program of instruction/curriculum IAW current Army policy and program guidance. Currently Online Academic Skills Course (OASC) and College Placement Skills Training (CPST). The curriculum may be supplemented with study aids and instructor materials. Teach Basic Skills Education Program (BSEP) academic basic skills remediation, test preparation, prerequisite study for service schools and college classes, and military professional development training via face-to-face and/or virtual methods (e.g., live video/live chat, etc.)
IAW SOP, AR
621-5, and/or current directives. Develop student Individualized Education Plans (IEP) to plan and deliver instruction based on individual needs using the government-provided program of instruction/curriculum. Measure student outcomes; maintain student records, and course documentation IAW SOPs and written directives provided by the Government and provide this information to the
ESO/BSEP
Program Manager as required. Distribute and collect data from government provided surveys on program effectiveness. Enter pre- and post-AFCT exams in the BSEP SharePoint Database via the Power App created for the Education Center. Use education management system to announce classes, enroll students, document attendance and report absences to chain of command on a daily basis, communicate behavioral issues or class disruptions to ESO immediately, post test scores and monitor progress. Support special events as requested by ESO (i.e. college fairs, graduation, etc.). Maintain work area, office, and classroom environment in a clean, neat, professional, and orderly manner. Ensure computers and peripherals are clean and operational. Provide individual end-of-course counseling on post-TABE and GT Predictor testing results, including recommendation to take AFCT, need for continued self-study, or extension into next course, as needed. Provide tutoring support developed locally for and by each education center and office. Create/update marketing flyers to advertise upcoming class dates. Provide entry into the BSEP database for Soldier details and pre-post AFSC Examination results, tracking GT Improvement for Soldiers. Communicate with
ESO/BSEP
Manager and students any class changes due to inclement weather, sickness, etc.
Education/Experience/Investigation Requirements:
The minimum education and experience required to perform these services/tasks include a bachelor's degree in any area of study and teaching/instructor experience. Degrees must be from a college or university that is accredited by a national or regional accredited agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. End-user instructional experience is using a web based curriculum and environment. The ability to assist students with a web-based curriculum and with technical equipment is required along with a demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs. Minimum of one year relevant experience consisting of at least one (1) year experience in individualized or classroom instruction, including prescriptive remediation of skills in the areas of Math, Reading, English Grammar, Science, Writing, Language Arts, or oral and written communication; a NACI investigation is required for this position.
