THE POSITION
Under the supervision of the Administrator of Educational Programs, the teacher will introduce students to the principles of climate science, sustainability, and environmental stewardship. Students will explore the interconnectedness of natural systems, the impact of human activities on the environment, and actionable strategies for creating a more sustainable future. Key topics include climate change, renewable energy, waste reduction, conservation, sustainable agriculture, and urban planning practices. Through hands-on projects, critical discussions, and real-world applications, students will analyze global and local environmental challenges and develop innovative solutions. The course fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and advocacy skills, empowering students to become informed citizens. By the end of the course, students will have the tools to make environmentally conscious decisions and inspire others to contribute to a healthier planet.
INSTRUCTOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in curriculum development and/or revision. Develop lesson plans aligned with the approved course outline. Maintain timely student records, grades, and attendance. Participate in annual advisory committee meetings. Participate in staff meetings & professional development activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of work experience in the field of Environmental Sciences At least one year of the required work experience must be within the last two years Possess or be eligible to apply for a Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential.

The successful candidate must qualify for or possess a valid Three-Year Preliminary or Five-Year Clear Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Credential, including English Second Language Certification.
