Immediately Job Description For 2026-27 school year. 185 contract days. Salary commensurate with Rank and Experience. Benefits include state retirement and state sponsored health insurance plus additional optional benefits. •Split position between Agriculture Science and General Science or Special Education.•Valid Ky. Responsible for the education of agriculture, food science, and natural resources for students. Give students vital skills that are important in the agriculture industry to include math, science, technology, communications, and management.RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, organize and implement appropriate daily instructional lessons in an environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, while utilizing district prescribed curriculum in the assigned area(s). Maintain detailed records of student performance, maintain classroom order and work as a team member to complete and submit all paperwork, documentation, and reports in a timely manner. Provide quality direct and indirect instructional services to meet the needs of students with a variety of learning Conduct an instructional program that educates students about career pathways in agriculture that can be used as a guide to achieving necessary skills for continued education and employment Provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in a global economy Remain abreast and inform students about agriculture and agricultural literacy Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions Attend in-area and state training meetings Develop lesson plans which meet established school and national curriculum models Adapt and reassess lesson plans to meet specific student needs, comply with newly implemented guidelines or rules and to update relevant information, to include new developments in education Manage the diverse ability level of students by adapting the curriculum to fit individual student needs while maintaining overall class progress Utilize a variety of educational resources, instructional materials and technology to enhance the teaching and learning process in a competent and effective manner Clarify goals, objectives, standards and benchmarks of lessons and Assess and record student development, while identifying strengths and weaknesses in students Maintain a safe, respectful and positive learning environment, providing open communication with students, while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidelines Communicate with parents on a regular basis, providing student progress reports to include both positive and negative behaviors Attend and take part in all professional development activities, trainings and meetings Participate in professional activities, continuing education and professional development that enhance the mission and goals of the school/district and meeting district standards Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and ethics Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the Principal, Assistant Principal or District Administration.SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

As a condition of initial employment, all employees shall pass a medical examination. The medical examination shall be reported on the form required by Kentucky Administrative Regulation available at the Board of Education office. The examination shall be provided by a licensed physician, physician assistant (PA), or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Each medical examination shall include a risk assessment for tuberculosis as required by Kentucky Administrative Regulation. Individuals identified by that assessment as being at high risk for TB shall be required to undergo a tuberculin skin test. 702 KAR 001:160 All applicants being considered for employment shall be required to submit to a urinalysis test for the detection of illegal use of drugs and alcohol. An applicant refusing to complete any part of the drug testing procedure will not be considered a valid candidate for employment with the District, and such will be considered as a withdrawal of the individual's application for employment. If substance screening shows a confirmed positive result for which there is no current physician's prescription, a second confirming test may be requested by the HRC. If the first or any requested second confirming test is positive, any current job offer will be revoked. The applicant will not be permitted to reapply for employment with the District for at least twelve (12) months and not until the applicant shows proof of successful completion of a drug rehabilitation program or proof that the applicant is no longer engaging in illegal drug use.
