Job Description

High School Agriculture Poolville, TX 76487 Full-time Full-time Primary Purpose Provide students with engaging learning experiences in Agricultural Science while promoting leadership development, career readiness, and hands-on learning through classroom instruction, laboratory experiences, and participation in the FFA organization. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Valid Texas teaching certificate in Agricultural Science and Technology (Grades 6-12) CDL certification or ability to obtain preferred Ability to manage agricultural facilities and maintain a safe instructional environment Responsibilities Teach assigned Agricultural Science courses aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Serve as FFA Advisor, supporting student leadership development and participation in FFA activities and competitions Supervise and support student Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects Coordinate and assist students participating in livestock shows, leadership contests, and judging competitions Maintain and manage the agricultural science classroom, shop, and program facilities Communicate effectively with parents, students, and community stakeholders Participate in professional development and district meetings as required Program Highlights Modern agricultural barn with upgraded animal pens to support student livestock projects Strong community and parent support for the agricultural science program Established tradition of success at major stock shows Active FFA program with opportunities for student leadership and competition Working Conditions Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for FFA activities, livestock shows, and competitions Ability to work in agricultural shop and outdoor environments
