College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Position Description:
The Department of Anthropology within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at DePaul University invites expressions of interest in part-time faculty teaching opportunities for the 2025-2026 academic year. Such opportunities may or may not be available at any given time, and this application process is used to generate a pool of potential applicants for use when a position becomes available. We do hire part-time faculty regularly, and applicants with expertise that matches our needs will be contacted for an interview. Applicants should be at the ABD stage of their doctoral program or hold a PhD in Anthropology (preferred), and have a demonstrated record of effective teaching at the university level. We are particularly interested in candidates who are comfortable teaching anthropology in general education programs to non-major audiences. Upon hiring we will work with selected individuals to determine a mutually agreeable schedule on a quarter by quarter basis. Courses are not guaranteed; however the Department does its best to give ample notice about available courses and potential course cancellations.
Qualifications:
More than one year teaching experience at the collegiate level. Have an ABD or a PhD in Anthropology with PhD preferred.

About DePaul University's Academic Calendar:
Except for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).

Salary Information:
