Job Description

Faculty Wage Lecturer, Department of Landscape Architecture The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia United States, Virginia, Charlottesville 1215 Lee Street (Show on map) Apr 02, 2026 The Department of Landscape Architecture, School of Architecture at the University of Virginia seeks applications to fill various non-tenure-track instructional Lecturer positions during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Specialized subject areas of particular need may include, but are not limited to: Studio, Seminar, Lecture, Intensive Short Course, Visualization, and/or Workshop. Qualified incumbents may be hired into one or more of the specialized areas (Undergraduate and/or Graduate Courses). Other duties may include, but are not limited to: organizing guest lectures, course-specific advising, developing or reviewing curricula, advising, guiding students in their research papers, grading, and/or organizing and leading field trips. Applicants must have a master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field.

Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with prior university-level teaching experience. The qualified candidate should demonstrate professional and/or academic expertise in the specialized subject area and provide evidence of teaching ability and experience which applies to students' achieving the goals and learning outcomes of the program. Compensation will take the form of wages paid on a bi-weekly pay cycle.
