  • Full-time Cambio Consulting Group is hiring a Records Analyst to serve as a hands-on records management practitioner supporting the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Records Management Program in Washington, DC.
This work supports ATF's compliance with the Federal Records Act, OMB/NARA M-19-21, and DOJ records management policy. This role is the engine of the records management program: developing schedules, executing dispositions, certifying electronic information systems, conducting inventories, and recommending program improvements that move ATF closer to a fully modernized electronic records environment. This will be position will be onsite at the ATF Headquarters (Washington, DC). There is a minimum of eight hours per day, Monday
  • Friday, during the business hours of 700 AM
  • 500 PM (core hours) EST except for federal holidays.
The Records Analyst will support the department within the following areas/tasks: Manage day-to-day records management program activities at ATF, including developing and updating records schedules, conducting records inventories, and evaluating existing records management procedures Execute the full records disposition life cycle in compliance with federal regulations, including maintaining records, scheduling records for disposition, retiring records to Federal Records Centers (FRCs), and transferring permanent records to the National Archives Apply ATF RIMCert procedures to review and certify that new and existing electronic information systems incorporate appropriate records management functionality Develop and maintain vital records schedules and support the agency's vital records program, including movement toward more automated capture and inventory of vital records Conduct detailed inventories of physical and electronic records and ensure proper classification by retention period, sensitivity, and confidentiality Recommend improvements to records management procedures, file plans, and standard operating procedures to align with current legal and regulatory requirements Maintain a current version of the ATF Records Control Schedule (RCS), incorporate new General Records Schedule items as they are issued, and identify unscheduled records for new schedule development Prepare records management metrics and reports for the Senior Records Manager, ATF Records Officer, and other stakeholders
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from an accredited institution in records management, library and information science, public administration, business administration, or a related field
Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of hands-on federal records management experience covering all phases of records disposition; candidates exceeding the minimum and bringing direct DOJ or law enforcement records experience are strongly preferred Documented experience maintaining records, scheduling records, retiring records to Federal Records Centers, and transferring records to the National Archives Direct experience drafting, revising, and submitting records schedules through agency review to NARA Demonstrated experience conducting records reviews, building records inventories, and evaluating existing records management procedures Experience certifying or assessing electronic information systems for records management compliance, ideally using a structured framework such as ATF RIMCert or comparable agency procedures Experience developing and maintaining vital records inventories and schedules Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook) and federal electronic records management systems Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be able to pass a Government Background Investigation Aware and prepared for all meetings. All contractor employees must read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Certified Records Manager (CRM) credential or Information Governance Professional (IGP) certification Prior records management experience supporting a Department of Justice (DOJ) component, federal law enforcement agency, or other federal regulatory body Direct experience supporting an
OMB/NARA M-19-21
