Job Description

Document Processor - Federal Records Project (Contractor) Are you detail-oriented, dependable, and looking for meaningful contract work? We're staffing a document processing project at a federal records repository in Lenexa, KS — and we need people who take their work seriously. What you'll be doing You'll be part of a team handling and digitizing sensitive Native American trust records. That means preparing documents for scanning, operating scanning equipment, entering data into database systems, and helping ensure the integrity of every record that comes through. Day to day, you can expect to: Prep documents by removing fasteners, repairing damaged pages, and organizing materials for scanning Operate high-volume scanners and use QC software to review and correct images Verify box contents against inventories and labels Enter data accurately into databases and spreadsheets Handle and move boxes (up to 50 lbs, including overhead lifting and palletizing) Follow strict facility protocols and maintain confidentiality at all times What we're looking for Strong attention to detail — this work is precise and the records matter Good organizational skills and the ability to follow procedures consistently Basic computer proficiency Solid communication and the ability to work well on a team Manual dexterity for document handling Ability to stand or sit for extended periods Pallet jack experience or certification is a plus, not required Why this role matters These are real historical records for Native American communities.
