Retail - About the Role Our firm is partnering with a large, nationally recognized retail organization with a strong brand and creative legacy to support its Corporate Archives team. This Digitization Technician role plays a key part in preserving and activating historical visual assets that support brand storytelling, business initiatives, and enterprise-wide research. The position focuses on high-volume digitization and preparation of photographic materials to ensure long-term accessibility and preservation. Job Description This role supports the digitization of photographic assets within a corporate archives environment, enabling improved access, discoverability, and long-term preservation. The Digitization Technician will execute standardized image capture and processing workflows while maintaining high quality and accuracy. After onboarding, this role operates with a high degree of independence and contributes to continuous improvement of digitization workflows.
Responsibilities include:
Digitizing photographic materials such as 35mm slides and prints using flatbed and slide scanners Producing consistent, high-quality digital images in alignment with established standards Performing basic image processing, including cropping, rotation, and color correction Applying metadata and maintaining file naming conventions to support asset discoverability Tracking physical and digital materials throughout the digitization lifecycle Conducting quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and completeness Maintaining production logs and supporting output reporting Meeting established production benchmarks and deadlines Identifying opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and image quality Supporting ongoing corporate archives operations and digitization enhancements Qualifications Required Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience Experience working with digital imaging equipment or similar production tools Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive, high-volume tasks accurately Basic proficiency with macOS, spreadsheets, and file management systems Ability to follow defined workflows and documentation Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Ability to work at a computer or scanning station for extended periods Ability to handle, organize, and care for physical materials Preferred Qualifications Experience digitizing photographic materials, including slides Familiarity with archival, library, or collection-based workflows Experience with digital asset management or collection management systems Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop or similar image-editing tools Experience working in a high-volume production environment Ability to troubleshoot scanning equipment or image quality issues Benefits Dahl Consulting is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees that will allow you to choose the best coverage to meet your family's needs.
