$31.25/hr OT Required / Expected? Possible on-call WB Games Resource(s)? N CNN Resource(s)? Y What We Do/Project Our team identifies and archives CNN's Video. We support CNN worldwide by providing archival research. Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
  • Archival research via several weekly shifts on the archives reference desk: contribute to the production process using expert search skills to locate video assets for daily programming, digital products, licensing and sales, promotions, and other productions.
Top-quality editorial judgment and efficiency are essential to providing accurate and curated research to production partners working under tight deadlines.
  • Metadata enhancement: the Content Information Specialist relies on knowledge of departmental policies, video production needs and professional cataloging guidelines to apply metadata that enhances the accuracy of catalog information and gives quick access to video for production.
  • Original cataloging: supports the preservation of CNN's legacy tape library by creating original catalog records and preparing tapes for digitization.
Must Have Skills / Requirements 1) Reference experience a. 1+ year of experience; Knowledge of how to do a reference interview Nice to Have Skills / Preferred Requirements 1) Experience with media production or in journalism. 2) Microsoft Office 365 experience.
Soft Skills:
1) Demonstratable knowledge of news and current events 2) Experience conducting thorough and appropriate reference interviews and providing reference service 3) Agility, attention to detail, ability to work independently, sound editorial judgment, strong customer service skills 4) As CNN is a 24x7x365 news operation, schedules will require evening, weekend and overnight support, so flexibility is a must.
