Adjunct/Part-Time KyCAD would like to announce a new position in the capacity of Adjunct Lecturer of Studio Art, a six-week course taking place Fall 2026, Session 2 (October 13-November 20, M-R 1:30-5pm). This position is open to Internal and External applications.

Under the direction of the Chair of Studio Art, the Adjunct Lecturer would have the opportunity to instruct STU 230:

Ceramics• 3 credits This course will be an introduction to the essential skills that are the foundation of sculptural practice. Through traditional processes and media, such as: metal fabrication, woodworking, mold-making and a historical, craft-based approaches to generating and understanding sculpture, the class will guide students toward hands-on practice. This class may focus on one or more of the skills above. "Thinking as making" is introduced as a founding concept and the class will work with representations of the natural world. The arts and crafts movement will be studied as a background to this class. •The course should emphasize hand-building techniques as the primary method of instruction. Wheel throwing may be incorporated as appropriate; however, because the College has a limited number of pottery wheels, it should not serve as the primary focus of the course.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Master of Fine Arts Degree in Studio Art or Ceramics or master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate course credit hours in ceramics or recognized professional accomplishments in related field.
