Job Description
The Department of Art and Design at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) invites applicants for anticipated part-time, temporary faculty position(s) of Gallery Director for the Fall 2026 semester. The department seeks candidates whose teaching, research, service, or professional experience have prepared them to serve all IUP students. Responsibilities The Gallery Director is responsible for installing and maintaining exhibitions in the Kipp and Annex galleries in Sprowls Hall on the campus of IUP. The director will handle all communication with visiting artists for the current academic year and will work with the gallery committee to plan and schedule the galleries for the upcoming year. The gallery director will supervise student workers to assist in gallery installation and maintenance. The gallery director will plan and promote gallery receptions, artist talks and other related activities. The director will maintain communication with the student co-op, which is the funding source of the gallery, keeping all paperwork up-to-date and in compliance. The gallery director will manage the gallery budget and will submit the budget for the upcoming academic year. The successful candidate will be in person for events on campus for the duration of the semester.
