Weekly vocal coaching for advanced undergraduate and graduate singers Lead the musical preparation of the Winter 2027 mainstage opera: create and distribute the weekly musical schedule, assign pianist/coach GSIs to rehearsals and coachings, lead the musical rehearsals in the main rehearsal room and prepare the cast for musical run-throughs with the maestro. Provide diction notes to singers in subsequent milestone rehearsals.

Opera Workshop:

co-teach (with opera stage director) and/or musically support one or more sections of Opera Workshop (OPERA 239, OPERA 240, OPERA 451/551, etc.) Effort %: 100% Start date of appt: 1/1/27 Expected date of offer: 4/26/26 Required Qualifications• Master's degree in collaborative piano. At least one year of experience as a coach in a competitive young-artist or apprentice-coach program at a professional opera company or major summer festival Foundational experience coaching singers on diction, style, and musical preparation in major operatic languages (Italian, German, French; additional languages a plus), with broad familiarity with standard opera and classical vocal repertoire. Demonstrated proficiency in conducting and leading musical rehearsals. Strong organizational skills for rehearsal scheduling and coordination, and effective communication and collaboration skills with singers, directors, conductors, and production staff. Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends during production periods. Modes of Work This position will be expected to teach on campus weekly.
