Pottery Instructor (Part-Time - Wheel & Handbuilding) Emerald Art Studio - Campbell, CA Emerald Art Studio is a refined, nature-inspired creative sanctuary where art, community, and calm come together. We are seeking an experienced Pottery Instructor to lead both wheel throwing and handbuilding classes , with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, technique, and thoughtful guidance. well-formed, functional, and larger-scale pieces Role Overview As a Pottery Instructor, you will lead structured classes and workshops, guiding students of varying skill levels through both foundational techniques and more advanced forms. You will play a key role in shaping the ceramics experience at the studio — balancing technical instruction with a calm, welcoming teaching style. This is a part-time role , with flexible scheduling based on class offerings (weekday evenings and/or weekends). Key Responsibilities Instruction & Teaching Lead wheel throwing and handbuilding classes for beginner to intermediate students Teach core techniques including centering, pulling walls, shaping, trimming, and finishing Guide students in creating functional and larger forms (bowls, mugs, vases, and similar forms) Provide individualized feedback and hands-on support Curriculum & Experience Follow and/or contribute to structured class curriculum Ensure each session is engaging, well-paced, and approachable Help students complete pieces they feel proud of Studio & Student Support Prepare materials and tools prior to class Maintain a clean, organized, and safe teaching environment Communicate clearly with students regarding timelines (drying, firing, glazing) Support a calm, respectful, and inclusive studio atmosphere Ideal Candidate Strong experience in wheel throwing and handbuilding , with a portfolio of functional work Demonstrated ability to create larger or more complex ceramic forms (bowls, mugs, vases) Prior teaching or workshop experience preferred Patient, encouraging, and clear communicator Passionate about ceramics and community-centered creative spaces Reliable and professional What We Offer A beautifully designed, plant-filled studio environment Opportunity to teach in a growing, premium creative space Creative freedom within a thoughtfully curated program Supportive and collaborative studio culture Schedule & Compensation Part-time (classes scheduled evenings and/or weekends)
Compensation:
