The ideal candidate should have experience in teaching and educating students in various fine art disciplines. They should also have the ability to teach students of all abilities and an understanding of special educational approaches for students with autism. Responsibilities Develop and implement art lesson plans that align with curriculum standards Instruct students in various fine art techniques and mediums Foster a creative and inclusive learning environment Provide constructive feedback to students on their artwork Organize and oversee art projects and exhibitions Provide tailored art instruction for students of all abilities Develop and implement customized art education programs for students with autism Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art into interdisciplinary lessons Guide and advise students in preparing art portfolios for college applications Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in Art Education (Master's preferred) Teaching certification for elementary, middle, and high school art Minimum of 3 years of art teaching experience Proficiency in various fine art media (drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, etc.) Ability to teach students of all abilities, from beginners to advanced learners Experience in guiding students with portfolio preparation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to develop creative and innovative teaching methods Deep understanding of art history and contemporary art trends Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques Familiarity with early childhood and adult education principles Experience in art education for students with autism or relevant training Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of special education practices First aid certification Experience teaching learners across diverse age groups and ability levels Portfolio Guidance Skills Support students in developing their personal artistic style Knowledge of portfolio requirements for various art colleges Ability to effectively select and organize students' work Skill in guiding the creation of portfolios that incorporate a range of fine art media Guide students in writing artist statements Benefits Health insurance 401(k) retirement plan Supportive and creative work environment Opportunities for professional development and growth
