The role is ideal for educators who enjoy working with children and can confidently teach foundational art techniques in a fun, supportive environment.
Qualifications:
Art Skills You should have a strong foundation in drawing, painting, color theory, and composition. A PDF art portfolio of 5-10 works or a portfolio website that demonstrates the above skills is required with the application. Experience - Preferred candidates have experience teaching or working with children, are comfortable leading groups and managing a classroom, and are able to teach art techniques and build skills. Education Ideal candidates will have a degree or coursework in Art Education, Fine Arts, Design, or a related field is preferred. Art teachers, teaching artists, private art tutors, and/or art education students are encouraged to apply.
What You Will Do:
Teach structured art lessons that develop skills progressively over time Facilitate engaging classes for children of various ages (4-12 years) and skill levels Demonstrate drawing, painting, and other art techniques Break complex skills into clear, age-appropriate steps Provide constructive, encouraging feedback to students Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
