Founded in 2019, New Cottage Arts provides no-cost, year-round music and arts education programs that support the social, emotional, and artistic development of youth and families. We believe every child deserves access to high-quality arts education in a supportive and inclusive environment. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced teaching artist who can design and facilitate engaging visual arts experiences for K-5th grade students in public schools and community settings. The ideal candidate is an educator and artist who understands both classroom management and creative exploration, and who can create meaningful projects that build artistic skills, confidence, and self-expression. Preferred Artistic Background Experience in multiple visual art mediums, including: Drawing Painting Mixed Media Sculpture Collage Printmaking Mural Arts Fiber Arts Illustration Digital Art Multi-medium artists are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Lead engaging visual arts classes for K-5th grade students Develop and adapt age-appropriate arts curriculum Facilitate hands-on creative projects that support artistic growth Create safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environments Manage classroom behavior and group dynamics effectively Prepare materials and maintain organized learning spaces Support student showcases, exhibitions, and community events Collaborate with school staff, NCA team members, and community partners Track attendance and basic program documentation Arrive prepared, organized, and on time
Qualifications Required:
Experience teaching visual arts to youth Classroom teaching or classroom management experience Curriculum development experience Experience leading group programs independently Strong communication and organizational skills Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the Denver metro area Ability to work in public school environments Ability to pass a background check Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability
Preferred:
