Part-Time Position Summary Potential Christian Academy seeks a creative, passionate, and faith-driven Art Teacher to cultivate artistic expression, creativity, and appreciation for the visual arts through a biblical worldview. The Art Teacher will provide engaging instruction that develops students' artistic skills, creative thinking, and understanding of art history while encouraging students to use their God-given talents to glorify Him. The ideal candidate will foster an environment where students explore various artistic techniques, media, and styles while building confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive visual arts curriculum aligned with school goals and grade-level standards. Teach a variety of artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, design, and art appreciation. Introduce students to significant artists, art movements, and cultural contributions throughout history. Provide instruction in artistic techniques, craftsmanship, creativity, and visual communication. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students. Incorporate technology and contemporary artistic tools when appropriate. Assess student learning and artistic growth through projects, portfolios, and exhibitions. Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into art instruction. Help students understand creativity as a gift from God and artistic expression as a means of honoring Him. Model Christ-like character, integrity, and servant leadership. Encourage students to develop their gifts and talents for God's glory. Support the mission, vision, and Statement of Faith of Potential Christian Academy. Create a safe, positive, and inspiring classroom environment that encourages creativity and risk-taking. Foster student confidence, self-expression, and appreciation for diverse artistic perspectives. Encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving through artistic projects. Organize and display student artwork throughout the school and community. Coordinate student art shows, exhibitions, competitions, and special events. Maintain art supplies, equipment, and classroom organization. Develop annual plans and budgets for art materials and program needs. Collaborate with faculty to integrate art into cross-curricular learning opportunities. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and achievements. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and assigned duties. Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or a related field. Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification. Demonstrated artistic proficiency across multiple media and techniques. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Commitment to Christian education and biblical integration. Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the mission and values of Potential Christian Academy. Previous teaching experience in a Christian school setting. Experience coordinating art shows, exhibitions, and student competitions. Knowledge of digital art, graphic design, photography, or emerging art technologies.
