FUNCTION
Provides art instruction to students and emphasizes the importance of art work through quality exhibitions.
REQUIREMENTS
1.
Educational Level:
Bachelor Degree in job related field 2.
Certification/License:
Valid Georgia Teacher certification or eligibility for GA certification in Art. 3.
Experience:
None 4.
Physical Activities:
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities 5.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Written and oral communication; instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learners; student management
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress. Establishes a positive classroom climate and effectively manages art education instruction within that environment. Provides quality art education experiences for all students and ensures each students' progress on an individual basis when possible. Familiarizes oneself with the established art curriculum and plans lessons in concert with same. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. Evaluates student progress in terms of the objectives of the course and grade taught. Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures. Meets certification and accreditation standards. Meets expectations according to the regular elementary teacher job description. Seeks to improve through professional development and evaluation activities. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
