Full-Time (Monday-Friday) About AlRazi Academy AlRazi Academy is a vibrant, community-focused private school in West Des Moines dedicated to providing high-quality education and fostering a love for learning in a supportive environment. We are looking for an energetic, creative, and versatile educator to lead our Physical Education and Visual Arts programs for our K-8 students. The Role We are seeking a unique individual who can bridge the gap between physical activity and creative expression. This "dual-specialty" role is perfect for a teacher who is passionate about holistic student development—keeping our students active in the gym and inspired in the art studio.
Key Responsibilities:
Physical Education:
Develop and lead engaging PE classes that promote teamwork, fitness, and healthy habits across all grade levels (K-8).
Visual Arts:
Plan and implement a creative art curriculum that explores various mediums, art history, and self-expression.
Curriculum Development:
Create age-appropriate lesson plans that align with school goals and state standards.
School Culture:
Participate in school events, staff meetings, and collaborate with our dedicated team of educators.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment in both the gym and the classroom.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Physical Education, Art, or a related field. Valid Iowa Teaching License (or eligibility for licensure). Ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of students from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Strong communication and organizational skills.
