REPORTS TO

Building Principal

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Illinois Professional Educator's License with elementary art endorsement Experience in Art instruction preferred Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, and school improvement process

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide developmentally appropriate and diverse instruction in Art education Establish and implement appropriate procedures for assessing student learning Plan age-appropriate Art events and/or special projects to help maintain students' interest in Art Work with teaching staff to correlate Art instruction with other subjects and to address the school-wide focus areas Actively participate in appropriate professional development activities for staff Contribute as a team member and/or leader to all school improvement initiatives Maintain a classroom climate and management plan conducive to learning Communicate effectively with students, parents, the public, and staff Perform other duties as assigned
