Immediately Job Description This is an Art position that will split time between Orchard View Elementary and Middlebury Elementary.
JOB GOALS
To instruct students in activities designed to promote social, physical, and academic growth by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Meet professional responsibilities. Plan and organize instruction to achieve general and course proficiencies. Provide effective instruction using a variety of strategies, which bring about desired student proficiencies. Assess student progress, maintain records and communicate ongoing student progress and growth. Organize and manage the classroom environment to maximize learning. Demonstrate effective communication skills with students, parents, and community. Demonstrate effective people skills. Supervise students at recess. Maintain classroom inventory; order supplies and materials as needed. Attend meetings and in-services. Plan, organize, and supervise field trips. Incorporate technology to enhance instruction as needed. Identify student needs, and if necessary, coordinate with other staff members (nurse, speech therapist, etc.) to address those needs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE
Four-year college or university degree. Valid teaching license with required level certification.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of children, parents or employees of the school organization. Ability to communicate effectively through technology.
MATHEMATICAL SKILL
Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts appropriate for grade level content required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in digital, written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATION
Certification by the State of Indiana in teaching area(s). Must have current CPR certification.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Number of days per certified contract. Salary is determined by identifying experience and degree per the certified salary schedule.
