Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary Art Teacher to inspire students in exploring their creativity and developing their artistic skills. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster a vibrant classroom environment where students can express themselves through various art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for art education, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to nurturing each student's unique artistic voice. As a paid position, this role emphasizes professional growth and meaningful engagement with students across diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that incorporate creative techniques and diverse art mediums Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages experimentation, critical thinking, and self-expression among students Assess student progress through projects, presentations, and standardized testing, providing constructive feedback to support growth Integrate learning technology to enhance artistic instruction and facilitate digital art projects Mentor students in developing their portfolios and preparing for art competitions or exhibitions Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school-wide arts initiatives Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and performance in compliance with school policies Requirements Proven classroom experience teaching secondary school students in an art or related subject area Strong knowledge of art techniques, art history, and contemporary practices Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment strategies in arts education Excellent communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues effectively Ability to manage classroom behavior while fostering a creative learning environment Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds and learning needs, including special education settings Proficiency in using learning technology tools such as digital drawing tablets, online portfolios, or educational software Knowledge of standardized testing procedures related to arts education programs Additional skills in areas like sports coaching or physical education are considered a plus but are not required Join us as a Secondary Art Teacher to ignite passion for the arts among young learners!
