Job Description

The Winnipesaukee Playhouse seeks a part-time Visual Art teacher to develop and teach afternoon art workshops at our 2023 Summer Camps. The camps run six weeks consecutively, from July 10th until August 18th. The schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday 12:30 pm-4:00 pm and Fridays 9 am-4 pm. Each week is themed, and our Art teachers will have the freedom to craft their workshops on whatever subject they'd like using those themes as a jumping-off point, as long as each lesson maintains our commitment to providing our students with the opportunities to explore and learn new techniques, strengthen their creativity, and have fun! Teachers should encourage students to jump into projects and get their hands messy, but must also possess classroom management skills to ensure things are cleaned up in a timely fashion. They will collaborate and work with our Theatre and Music teachers to prepare for a weekly Friday showcase. The ability to collaborate and work within a team is essential. Qualified candidates must be willing to submit to a background check before their first day of work. Bennefits also include comp tickets to each show in our Professional Summer Season and free tuition for family members. To apply, please send a resume and three references to Cory Lawson, The Director of Education and Community Engagement, at Cory_Lawson@winniplayhouse.org.
