The pay scale is in accordance with our Collective Bargaining Agreement. Position Overview The Bellefonte Area School District is seeking an Elementary Art Teacher to educate all students to use knowledge, values, and skills to function effectively as citizens of our society, by providing a nurturing and stimulating environment in cooperation with community, parents, and innovative curriculum Key Responsibilities The Teacher position will: Teach courses in Art following the course of study adopted by the school and curriculum. Utilize an adopted course of study, instructional program guidelines, and other materials in planning and developing lesson plans, and teaching outlines. Pursue a variety of methodology in teaching and instructing students including lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and hands on experiences. Plan and develop a variety of instructional materials appropriate to support students at various ability levels. Coordinate with staff student success Provide instruction and support in citizenship Participate and support the IEP Planning Process Foster a positive, safe, nurturing environment for staff and students Maintain positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and stakeholders Coordinate and deliver professional development for staff and parents To perform other professional duties as assigned by the building principal.
Education Requirements Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in Art Ed (PK-12)
Preferred:
Master's degree in related field
Experience Requirements Minimum:
Strong academic preparation and evidence of a rigorous teacher preparation program Experience with instructional technology Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred:
Prior teaching experience Experience working with English Learners or gifted students
Certifications & Licenses Required:
PA Certification in the content area of interest Bachelor's Degree (Required) Current clearances: Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprinting check Application Requirements External Applicants Please submit the following documents with your online application: Current employment clearances (dated within the past 5 years): Act 34 – Criminal History Act 114 – FBI Fingerprint Act 151 – PA Child Abuse Copies of degree certificates and transcripts Act 168 paperwork, Physical exam results, TB test results (required upon hire) Clearances must be for employment purposes.
