This position will run from November 2026 through January 2027. As a Christ-centered school, we are committed to academic excellence grounded in biblical truth, and as a long-term substitute you would play a key role in maintaining that standard. Due to the nature of this role, examples of personal artwork is helpful for the evaluation process. Key Responsibilities Full-time teaching load, including standard assigned school duties Teach fundamental art techniques to beginning and intermediate level students Maintain the Visual Arts classroom, supplies and materials Oversee assigned Art curriculum as well as find innovative approaches to standard projects Demonstrate the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) in daily work, and interactions with students and colleagues Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Ability to work efficiently in a team culture with fellow faculty Ability to communicate appropriately with faculty, staff, students and parents A fun, friendly disposition that will draw students into the enjoyment of creating art Self-motivated with the ability to initiate creative ideas Organization and management skills Creative and enthusiastic Strong knowledge of art and craft materials Experienced in a variety of art mediums and techniques Self-motivated with the ability to initiate projects and ideas Strong organization and management skills Fully in line with TCA's Christian values and Biblical Statements and Policies Have a willing heart for service (Ephesians 6:7) Education and Experience BA or BFA degree preferred in Studio Art or equivalent art major A foundation in Studio Art with a mastery in a variety of traditional 2D and 3D materials Ability to teach and introduce basic art concepts to Middle and Upper School level students Enjoy working with teenagers and have an aptitude to encourage their artistic achievements Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements Normal physical demands of teaching (including, but not limited to standing, reaching, stooping, squatting down, kneeling, and occasional lifting High physical demands of teaching include standing, kneeling, lifting, moving of art supplies, hanging art projects, and loading clay projects into a kiln Must be able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials and input information into computer Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues, students and parents, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner
