Non-Exempt Essential Functions The program's instructor works closely with the Upward Bound & Upward Bound Rural (UB/UBR) Project Directors to ensure success in meeting the program's purpose and objectives by providing instruction and guidance to all students who enroll in such classes. Demonstrate skills, knowledge, and abilities in the subject area being taught. Job Duties and Responsibilities Make continuous efforts to advance the quality and skill in the taught area. Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the learning outcomes. Create daily/weekly lesson plans for instruction. Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of their skills and outcomes. Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials. Provide students with written and accessible course instructions to follow with a clear understanding between student and instructor of the content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation methods and schedule of work. Monitor and keep a daily log of student attendance, behavior, and academic development. Report students' behavior problems as they arise.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in art or a related field of study. Certification in a related field of instruction (if applicable)
Preferred Qualifications:
BA in Art or Cultural Studies. Work-related experience in instruction.
