Job Description Seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a strong Christian faith, a love for teaching lower and upper elementary children, and a desire to create a positive and engaging learning environment. The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a Christ-centered art lesson plan for specified grade levels (K5 - 6th Grade). This role requires a commitment to integrating a Christian worldview into all lessons, fostering creativity, and teaching fundamental art concepts and techniques. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging art lessons that align with FCA's mission and educational philosophy. Teach fundamental art concepts, principles, and various mediums (e.g., drawing, painting, sculpture, etc.). Foster a positive, encouraging, and Christ-centered classroom environment where students feel safe to express their creativity. Manage art supplies and maintain an organized and inspiring art space. Prepare and organize student artwork for display throughout the school and for school events. Integrate lessons with other academic subjects and biblical principles where appropriate. Assess and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for growth. Manage classroom behavior effectively and promote positive social interactions among students. Integrate Christian values and principles into daily lessons and activities. Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience for students. Help lead our end of Year "Celebrate the Arts" in the
Spring Qualifications Required Qualifications:
A strong, demonstrated personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to FCA's Statement of Faith and mission. Previous experience teaching art to children, preferably in an elementary or middle school setting. Proficiency in various art mediums and techniques. Excellent classroom management skills and a professional demeanor. Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
