SUMMARY A
Teacher in the Tucson Unified School District Two-Way Dual Language Program advances student achievement through effective management of the learning environment, including preparing lesson plans, evaluating, and monitoring student performance and progress in alignment with the 90/10 immersion model. Our teachers provide effective and equitable instruction to students in various planned courses to address both content and language learning goals. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Grades Kindergarten
- 3rd OR Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8 with Bilingual Endorsement (Spanish approved area also required if teaching Spanish) Arizona Early Childhood Certificate, Birth to Age-8 with Spanish Bilingual Endorsement (Spanish approved area also required if teaching Spanish) Grades 4th
- 8th Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8 with Spanish Bilingual Endorsement (Spanish approved area also required if teaching Spanish) Grades 9th
- 12th Arizona Secondary Certificate with Spanish Bilingual Endorsement (Spanish approved area also required if teaching Spanish) Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization

5 hours per day New to District, Two-Way Dual Language (TWDL) teachers are considered Hard to Fill and are eligible for a $5,000 stipend . The stipend is paid in two installments at the end of each semester. Pro-rated for employees who work less than 1.0FTE/207 days. "Make the Move" candidates are also eligible for this stipend if they have not received it previously. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language. Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.
