Position:

Part-Time | In-Person ???? Teach ASL. Build Communication Skills. We're looking for an enthusiastic American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor to introduce students to the fundamentals of ASL through an engaging, interactive, and inclusive learning experience. You'll teach foundational signs, vocabulary, fingerspelling, and basic conversational skills while helping students practice through games, activities, and real-world scenarios. You don't need to be a professional ASL instructor or completely fluent. If you have a solid understanding of beginner-level ASL, can demonstrate basic signs clearly, and enjoy helping others learn, you may be a great fit. Curriculum guidance and instructional materials are provided , so you'll have support as you prepare and lead your sessions. ???? What You'll Do Lead engaging and interactive beginner ASL sessions Teach foundational signs, vocabulary, fingerspelling, and basic conversation Help students practice through games, activities, and real-world scenarios Teach common phrases and everyday communication using ASL Introduce age-appropriate concepts related to Deaf culture and accessibility Demonstrate signs clearly and provide supportive feedback Encourage students to practice and learn from mistakes Adapt activities to different learning styles, abilities, and experience levels Create a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful classroom Encourage participation, curiosity, and confidence Monitor student progress and celebrate accomplishments Maintain an organized and positive learning environment Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to teach ???? What We're Looking For You don't need to be fully fluent in ASL to apply. We're primarily looking for someone who has enough ASL knowledge and confidence to teach beginner-level concepts and create a positive learning experience. You may be a great fit if you have: A working knowledge of ASL and confidence with basic signs and phrases The ability to demonstrate and explain beginner-level ASL clearly A genuine interest in ASL, communication, accessibility, or Deaf culture Patience, enthusiasm, and an encouraging personality Strong communication and interpersonal skills Comfort leading and engaging groups of students The ability to learn, prepare, and follow provided curriculum Reliable, organized, and professional work habits Respect for Deaf culture and inclusive communication practices Fluency is a plus, but not required for this beginner-level teaching role. Experience in ASL instruction, interpreting, Deaf education, teaching, tutoring, mentoring, camps, youth programs, or community programs is helpful but not required. ASL students, college students, recent graduates, interpreters, educators, fluent and developing ASL users, and passionate learners are all encouraged to apply. ????
