For over 25 years, we have partnered with more than 50 city recreation departments, school districts, private schools, and homeschool groups throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Our programs in Public Speaking, Debate, Writing, and Math offer an engaging, supportive environment where students build essential life skills. We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Writing Teachers/Instructors to join our team, inspiring young learners through dynamic instruction. If you are passionate about writing and enjoy motivating students to succeed, we invite you to apply! Position Overview As a Writing Instructor, you will: Teach Writing to K-8 students using our comprehensive, pre-developed curriculum. Lead interactive classes to help students enhance their writing skills, express their ideas confidently, and strengthen their creative abilities. Provide personalized coaching and constructive feedback in small class settings (up to 12 students). Cultivate a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel valued and supported. Deliver classes after school on weekdays or on Saturdays, as well as during seasonal school break camps (Summer, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring).
Potential Work Schedule Summer camps:
Mondays to Fridays, 9:00
  • 11:30 and/or 12:30
  • 3:00
Saturdays:
9:00 AM
  • 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM
  • 5:30 PM Weekday afternoons: 4:00
  • 6:15 Flexible hours, with part-time opportunities ranging from 12 to 30 hours/week during the summer and 2 to 30 hours/week during the school year.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Communication Studies, Education, or a related field (preferred). Minimum of one year of experience in teaching or tutoring Writing classes. Excellent communication skills with a passion for helping students develop self-confidence and communication abilities. Energetic, dependable, and professional, with the ability to foster a fun and engaging learning experience. Enjoy working with students, especially in the K-8 age range. Compensation $22.00
