Position Overview The Spanish Teacher at Sanderling Waldorf School is responsible for delivering a living, artistically rich Spanish language program that nurtures the whole child — head, heart, and hands — in alignment with Waldorf pedagogical principles. The teacher brings warmth, cultural enthusiasm, and imaginative creativity to every lesson, fostering a genuine love of language in students from Grades 1 through 8. The Spanish Teacher works collaboratively within the faculty body, participates in the life of the school, and maintains a consistent, joyful, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Core Teaching Responsibilities The Spanish Teacher is expected to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Spanish language lessons across all assigned grades. Instruction should integrate oral fluency, cultural awareness, artistic elements such as songs, verses, movement, and storytelling, and a clear developmental progression from Grade 1 through Grade 8. The teacher is responsible for maintaining accurate records of student progress and communicating proactively with parents and colleagues regarding student needs. Qualifications Waldorf teaching experience or training is preferred but not required Native Spanish speaker preferred; fluency is required Experience teaching or working with children, preferably in a school setting Ability to develop engaging, age-appropriate lessons for Grades 1-8 Strong classroom management and communication skills Interest in Waldorf education and a willingness to work collaboratively with faculty We look forward to hearing from you!
