TBD - Following CIE Approval (anticipated Fall/Winter) Position Overview A growing U.S.-based campus of an established international university is seeking an Adjunct ESL Instructor & Designated School Official (DSO) to teach English language courses in-person at its North Miami location and manage SEVIS compliance for international students. This role combines language instruction with international student regulatory support. The university has a strong international presence and is expanding into the U.S. market. This position is critical to maintaining F-1 student compliance and supporting a diverse, multilingual student body. Scope of Work (Included)ESL Instruction (approx. 60% of role) Deliver ESL instruction using provided curriculum and instructional materials Facilitate required in-person learning activities, discussions, and assessments Grade assignments and evaluate student progress using established rubrics Maintain scheduled office hours for student support (on-campus) Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner Complete required reporting and grading tasks Maintain student attendance and progress records Participate in occasional faculty meetings or training as scheduled Designated School Official (DSO) Responsibilities (approx. 40% of role) Serve as the primary point of contact for F-1 international students regarding visa compliance Issue Form I-20s to admitted international students Manage and maintain accurate SEVIS records for all F-1 students Report student status changes to SEVIS (enrollment, program extensions, transfers, withdrawals, completions) Advise international students on maintaining lawful F-1 status, including full-time enrollment, travel signatures, reduced course load authorizations, and employment authorization (CPT/OPT) Maintain required DSO records and ensure audit readiness Serve as institutional liaison with SEVP and Student and Exchange Visitor Program Participate in required SEVIS training and stay current on federal regulations Support new student orientation for international students Total responsibilities are expected to remain within approximately 20-30 hours per week (instruction + DSO duties).Out of Scope (Not Required / Not Billable) Course or curriculum development (curriculum is pre-built) Accreditation or program design leadership Extended tutoring beyond course requirements Work outside of scheduled hours without prior approval Required Qualifications Degree in TESOL, ESL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a closely related field (Master's preferred; Bachelor's considered with strong experience)
TESOL / TEFL
certification (required) Prior ESL teaching experience (adult learners or higher education preferred) Ability to work in-person in North Miami, FL Willingness to complete SEVIS training and serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) (training can be provided; prior DSO experience is a plus but not required) Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or higher in TESOL, Linguistics, Education, or related field Prior

experience (strongly preferred) Experience teaching ESL at the college/university level in the U.S. Familiarity with CIE or SACSCOC faculty qualification expectations Experience with diverse, multilingual student populations Bilingual (English/Spanish) — strongly preferred for Miami student population Experience with international student advising or student services Additional Notes This is a part-time, adjunct, in-person position (1099 contract) Courses are fully developed; no content creation required DSO training (SEVIS) can be provided; prior experience is a plus Instruction and DSO duties are expected to begin following CIE approval (targeting Fall/Winter) The university has an established international presence and is launching its first U.S. campus in North Miami Local candidates only; must be able to commute to
