- $50 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Foreign language proficiency Tutorial sessions experience Teaching Spanish Working with students Youth group activity facilitation Teaching experience with young children Student engagement classroom management Full Job Description At The Hello House Language & Learning Center, we have had a lot of interest from parents in short "Grown-Up & Me" classes/sessions for 2• 3• and 4-year-olds to learn Spanish with their parent.
- This is a contract position which may only provide 1-2 hours per week or month. This is not a full-time position but rather an opportunity to partner with us to offer classes to fill a need and interest in the Athens-Clarke County and Oconee communities.
- We welcome current or retired teachers!
Session hours:
Saturday mornings and/or weekday mornings I'm looking for someone to partner with us to lead these sessions, which would include:- planning a fun, engaging, active/hands-on Spanish lesson for up to 6 young kids and their grown-ups
- choosing a variety of topics in Spanish that would appeal to this age group (dinosaurs, colors, animals, space, princesses, nature, etc.)
- leading high-quality group Spanish sessions of about 25 minutes
- creating a calm, welcoming environment for all
- sparking a sense of joy and wonder for the Spanish language and language learning in general I'm looking for people with the following qualifications:
- fluency in Spanish at the native or near-native level
- experience working with young kids
- teaching experience
- the ability to manage a classroom and create a calm, joyful learning space (some children may be shy or cry, etc.) More about this job:
- This job may require the ability to get onto and up off of the floor, and to move around with small children
- I can help you plan topics for the sessions and/or get any materials that the children need for the sessions (art supplies, colored scarves, simple instruments, visuals, toys/realia etc.
Pay:
$40.00- $50.
