About Us Hispanic Alliance GA Corp. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Hispanic and immigrant families through education, advocacy, and community support. We believe that English language proficiency opens doors to employment, education, and greater independence. We are seeking a compassionate and engaging ESL Teacher to join our team and help adults build confidence in their English communication skills. Position Summary The Part-Time ESL Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction for adult learners with varying levels of English proficiency. The ideal candidate is passionate about adult education, culturally responsive teaching, and creating an inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities Plan and teach ESL classes for adult learners. Develop lesson plans that improve speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Assess student language levels and monitor progress throughout the course. Foster a welcoming, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment. Maintain attendance records and student progress documentation. Adapt instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and English proficiency levels. Coordinate with Hispanic Alliance staff regarding class schedules, student needs, and program goals. Encourage student participation and confidence in using English in everyday situations.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience teaching English as a Second Language to adults or children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
Preferred:
TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or other ESL teaching certification. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Experience working with immigrant or refugee populations. Familiarity with adult education principles. Schedule Part-time Saturday's Evening hours preferred (to accommodate adult learners) Flexible schedule based on class sessions Compensation Compensation is competitive and based on qualifications and experience.
