Position Summary The classroom teacher supports Storm Lake Community School District's commitment to ensuring all students achieve at grade level within a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment. This role designs and delivers rigorous, relevant instruction while building strong relationships with students and families. Teachers collaborate with colleagues to embrace innovation, monitor student growth, and uphold collective responsibility for every learner's academic and social-emotional success. Essential Responsibilities Student Learning & Achievement Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction to ensure students meet grade-level expectations. Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Differentiate instruction and provide targeted supports to ensure access and success for all learners. Relationships & Culture Establish a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment that values students' cultures, identities, and lived experiences. Build strong, trusting relationships that support students' academic and social-emotional growth. Implement positive behavior supports and restorative practices. Family & Community Engagement Communicate consistently and effectively with families regarding student progress and learning goals. Engage families as partners in supporting grade-level achievement. Professional Collaboration & Growth Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instructional practices and improve student outcomes. Participate in professional learning aligned with district priorities. Uphold collective responsibility for the success of all students within the school community. Professional Expectations Contract days and salary placement are determined by the Master Contract agreement. Evaluation will be conducted in accordance with the Iowa Teaching Standards and district evaluation procedures. Employment is contingent upon valid Iowa licensure and required endorsements. Qualifications Valid Iowa Teaching License K-6 Teacher Elementary Classroom - 102 Native Spanish Speaker Terms of Employment Employment terms, salary, benefits, and evaluation procedures are established by the Storm Lake Community School District Board of Education and applicable agreements. Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory performance and compliance with district policies and state and federal regulations.
