Job Description

If you can't come to us in person to 900 N. Franklin St., Chicago IL, 60610, please, don't apply! We are looking for a Japanese teacher to come:
Japanese:
1 time per week and work with 2 groups of 6-12 students for 1.5 hrs (2 classes Japanese) and or Mandarin Chinese 2 times per week and work with 4-6 groups of 4-12 students for 3 hrs (4 classes of Mandarin) The work hours are between 8:45 and 3:15 Monday-Friday. September-June commitment, which ideally both you and we would choose to renew at the end of the term.
You need the following qualifications:
Native speaker in the target language 2 years minimum of teaching the target language to children, ideally both native and non-native speakers. Pedagogy and classroom management skills are a must Have at least a bachelor's degree You must be 21 or older. Should ideally have a PEL license or equivalent certificate in the country of origin, Mandarin speaking parts of China or Taiwan, and or Japan Able to communicate with colleagues, parents, mgt in English You must be vaccinated and able to provide a health certification form. This can morph into more opportunities with us such as full time teacher or sub position. Our students will be in junior Kindergarten through 12th grade. We are a small private school start up, 501.c.3. We have other teaching opportunities as well.

        1-3 45-minute class sessions per week, can be consecutive.

          ~1-8 students per class

            On-site in Chicago (flexible scheduling possible—just 1-2 days per week is fine!)
