Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting middle school students as a Bilingual Special Education Teacher (English & Spanish) in a dynamic junior high environment. Within a small classroom setting (20 or fewer students), you'll make a meaningful difference, fostering growth for learners in grades 6 through 8. This contract position runs from August 17, 2026, through June 2, 2027, and is designed for educators who bring adaptive expertise, compassion, and a commitment to long-term student success. You'll work onsite for 33.75 hours per week, delivering instruction and support that prioritizes student needs.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Special Education Licensure is required Above elementary level teaching experience, ideally in junior high or high school Fully bilingual in English and Spanish Previous experience with small group instruction and managing diverse learning profiles Proven track record of career consistency—your long-term commitment is highly valued Focused on student-centered teaching, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment Skilled at building rapport with students and collaborating with colleagues
