Our mission is to equip students with hands-on, real-world training needed for success in high-demand skilled trades. We are currently expanding our Electrical Program and are seeking an experienced, safety-conscious Electrical Instructor to help prepare students for entry-level employment in the electrical field. Position Overview We are primarily seeking an instructor with strong experience in residential electrical work who can teach students the practical skills they need before entering the workforce. By the end of the program, students should understand basic residential electrical systems, how to bend conduit, and how to properly use a multimeter in real-world applications. Key Responsibilities Teach students safe, legal, and code-compliant electrical installation practices. Deliver hands-on instruction in residential wiring, circuits, conduit bending, electrical tools, and multimeter usage. Prepare students for entry-level employment in the electrical trade industry. Cover electrical theory, NEC and Illinois code compliance, safety procedures, and job readiness skills. Supervise students in classroom and lab environments to maintain a productive and safe learning atmosphere. Develop and maintain lesson plans aligned with industry standards. Track and report student attendance and progress daily. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training area. Collaborate with RR Trade School leadership and local employers regarding student job placement opportunities. Stay current with electrical industry standards, safety practices, and code updates. Qualifications Must hold an active electrical license OR have 10+ years of electrical experience. Strong residential electrical experience required. Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and Illinois electrical code required. NCCER Certification is a major plus. OSHA Instructor Certification is also a major plus, especially for candidates qualified to teach OSHA safety courses to students. Previous teaching, mentoring, or training experience preferred. Ability to read and teach from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Dependable, organized, professional, and safety-focused. High school diploma or equivalent required. Schedule & Compensation Evening and weekend availability preferred. Part-time and full-time opportunities available.
