Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting contract opportunity available for a bilingual Special Education Teacher fluent in both English and Spanish, working with junior high students in an onsite setting. This position spans the 2026-2027 academic year, focusing on delivering specialized support to 6th-8th grade students. The caseload will include classes of 20 or fewer students, fostering a more personalized learning environment where student needs take top priority.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Special Education Teacher licensure is required Demonstrated fluency in Spanish and English Experience teaching junior high or high school students in special education settings Strong track record of career consistency and commitment to long-term roles Student-centered approach, prioritizing individual growth and learning Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families Excellent communication and organizational skills
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learning needs Provide bilingual instruction and support to facilitate student engagement Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust strategies as needed Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture that values each learner Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administration to ensure a cohesive learning experience Consistently uphold professional and district standards This is a full-time, onsite position with a schedule of 33.75 hours per week, allowing for a balanced approach to both teaching and collaboration with your educational team.
