POSITION OVERVIEW
Morehouse Parish School District is seeking a dynamic and culturally responsive High School Spanish (Foreign Language) Teacher to support student achievement at Bastrop High School, a Title I campus dedicated to equity and academic excellence. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction that develops proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing while fostering appreciation of diverse cultures and global perspectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver standards-aligned instruction based on Louisiana World Language Standards Develop student proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish Incorporate culturally relevant materials to promote global awareness Design interactive, communicative, and student-centered learning experiences Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment aligned with PBIS expectations Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance language learning Collaborate through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) Ensure compliance with FERPA, IDEA, Section 504, and district policies Engage families and stakeholders to support student achievement
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in Spanish or World Languages or eligibility through an LDOE-approved pathway Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish (oral and written) Knowledge of Louisiana World Language Standards Skills in classroom management, differentiation, and data-driven instruction Understanding of FERPA, IDEA, and Section 504 Proficiency with instructional technology and student data systems Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to equity and cultural responsiveness Candidates enrolled in a Teacher Preparation Program must provide proof of enrollment and Praxis scores (if applicable)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Spanish, World Languages, or related field 1-3 years of secondary teaching experience Experience in Title I or diverse school settings Experience with communicative and proficiency-based instruction Knowledge of Louisiana accountability systems Experience with MTSS/RTI and data use Experience integrating technology into instruction Ability to sponsor language or cultural activities
