Founded in 2005, Holyoke Community Charter School (HCCS) offers a high-quality public education in grades PreK-8th. The school mission is to promote the joy of learning and to prepare children for success as students, citizens, and workers by providing them with a high-quality public education . Having recently completed a comprehensive strategic and academic plan, HCCS teachers are driven to support diverse learners through a multitude of ways to present content and assess performance. Moreover, HCCS recently completed construction of a new 22,000 sq. ft. wing, adding four new classrooms and a new 16,000 sq. ft. gymnasium. Who We Are Looking For:
HCCS is looking for teachers who are excited about the prospects of using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) frameworks and Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) methodologies anchored to the Massachusetts Common Core Standards to prepare your instructional delivery. You are the CEO of the classroom. HCCS is looking for teachers who:- Demonstrate a high-level of professionalism.
- Differentiate across unit and lesson plans vis-à-vis the UDL frameworks.
- Illustrate a common understanding of language objectives and SEI techniques.
- Value a restorative justice approach to classroom and behavior management.
