Job Description

The Summit Preparatory School of Southwest Missouri is seeking an educator in the following area for the 2026-2027 academic year: Elementary/Lower School Spanish Long-term Substitute (Parental Leave Coverage) The Summit, located in Springfield, MO, is a fully accredited, independent, non-profit, co-educational day school meeting the learning needs of students in Early Learners through High School. The Summit is characterized by its progressive, student-centered philosophy, academically challenging curriculum, personalized, "deeper learning" approach, motivated students, small class sizes, and talented, dedicated faculty. This long-term substitute position will start at the beginning of the academic year and includes daily Spanish instruction for students in Early Learners (3, 4, and 5 year olds) through 3rd grade. The Summit offers a regionally competitive salary in a collaborative and engaging teaching community.
Reporting dates:
August through October 2026.

Qualifications/Experience:
Spanish fluency (required) Minimum Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (Master's preferred) Teacher certification (preferred) Minimum 2+ years experience in classroom or in academic field (preferred) Interested candidates should complete this Application for Employment and submit all required documentation, including a current résumé, letter of interest, and statement of educational philosophy.
