Job Description

The Glen Rock Jewish Center (grjc.org) is a thriving community of approximately 200 families nestled in a suburban town of Bergen County, NJ, 10 minutes from Teaneck. The Glen Rock Jewish Center is dedicated to preserving Jewish values and providing lifelong Jewish experiences for individuals and families living in Glen Rock and neighboring communities. The Glen Rock Jewish Center is seeking educators for the 2026-27 academic year: Classroom Educator - Sunday mornings and/or Tuesday evenings. Curriculum includes prayer, Bible, Jewish history, and holidays. Preference is for educators/leaders with a strong experience in Jewish educational settings.
The ideal teaching candidate will:
Plans lessons that are rooted in the Jewish tradition and strengthen students' Jewish identity. Uses diverse teaching strategies to meet students' needs. Enhance students' understanding of Hebrew. Develop a deep understanding of prayers. Communicate effectively with parents and staff. Foster a classroom environment which celebrates individual differences whilecreating a supportive community-centered atmosphere. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, grade-specific programming, and professional development opportunities. Collaborate with Hebrew School staff members.
