ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Articulates and facilitates the implementation of the mission of the Moriarty-Edgewood School District. Provides guidance to district and site administrators on federal and state regulations for compliance. Collaborates with other District departments regarding all aspects of services to ELLs. Ensures that the Home Language Survey is completed for all students upon enrollment. Ensures that all PHLOTE students are tested for language proficiency in English and Spanish where applicable. Provides technical assistance to school personnel in planning and implementing appropriate alternative language services for ELLs. Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, District policy and administrative regulations. Ensures that bilingual faculty carries out program objectives on the State Bilingual Application. Attends and/or conducts staff meetings and participates on committees within the areas of responsibility. Maintains professional relationships and works cooperatively with employees, the community and other professionals. Assists with the preparation/completion of the annual Bilingual and Title III applications
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes other tasks as deemed appropriate and necessary by the immediate supervisor and/or the Superintendent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 25 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, and moving light furniture may be required.
SAFETY AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
TB Test Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.
EQUIPMENT / MATERIAL HANDLED
Must know how to properly operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work within various degrees of noise and temperature. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision. May make site or home visits when needed and appropriate. This position requires work to be completed in-person and on site.
