Spanish Teacher

An Academy Teacher's job is to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. This teacher is self-motivated, self-directed, and able to manage time effectively while fulfilling curricular expectations. Ability to teach varied levels of Spanish for Middle School students Develops and enhances curriculum. Prepares an environment to facilitate the learning needs of all children. Demonstrates planning and preparation for instruction. Upholds professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion. Develops and implements individual and group lessons. Monitors student progress. Maintains and updates academic records. Establishes a professional relationship with parents. Appropriately carries out specific assignments, including but not limited to, service learning, assigned supervision, and other areas as determined by their supervisor. Able to plan and implement Spanish instruction for students in Middle School. Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Meets professional teacher education requirements of the Academy and NY State. Plans for the developmental needs of the children on an individual and group level academically as well as their social emotional learning. Executes curriculum in an appropriate manner. Supports the mission and goals of Nardin Academy. Demonstrate a working knowledge of Google Suite; Familiarity with Blackbaud preferred. Performs all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program. Demonstrates strong content knowledge as well as the ability to employ various instructional practices Able to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree in Spanish, education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution preferred. Fluent in Spanish (Native language, Education degree; Language degree) Demonstrated teaching experience is highly desirable.
