Job Description

The District Located in the heart of Westchester County, about twenty miles north of New York City, the Elmsford Union Free School District serves the Village of Elmsford and portions of the Town of Greenburgh. Our close-knit community of approximately 9,300 residents includes about 1,111 students who attend our three schools and UPK program. Alexander Hamilton Junior/Senior High School Elmsford Union Free School District The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated, high-energy, and NYS-certified Spanish Teacher to join the faculty at Alexander Hamilton Junior/Senior High School. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing world-class language instruction to students in grades 7 through 12, fostering both linguistic proficiency and cultural literacy.
Key Responsibilities Instructional Delivery:
Plan and deliver rigorous lessons aligned with the New York State Learning Standards for World Languages.
Curriculum Development:
Design engaging course materials for various levels, ranging from introductory 7th-grade Spanish to advanced high school courses (including potential AP or College-level offerings).
Assessment:
Utilize a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a structured, positive, and productive learning environment that encourages student participation and discipline.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the World Languages department and school administration to enhance the district's vertical alignment and student achievement.
Professionalism:
Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements Certification:
Valid New York State Certification in Spanish (Grades 7-12) is required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Master's degree preferred).
Skills:
Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal); strong communication skills; and the ability to integrate educational technology into the classroom.
Experience:
Previous experience teaching at the secondary level is preferred but not required for exceptional candidates. We prefer that you apply through olasjobs.org

$67,000.00 - $102,000.00 per year
