Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Mandarin Chinese Teacher to inspire students in mastering the Chinese language and culture. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design engaging lessons, foster a love for language learning, and support diverse learners of all ages. As a Mandarin Chinese Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes linguistic proficiency, cultural awareness, and personal growth. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students develop confidence in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding Mandarin Chinese. Duties Develop comprehensive curriculum plans that align with language proficiency standards and cultural education goals. Deliver engaging lessons utilizing various teaching methods, including multimedia tools, interactive activities, and technology-based platforms such as Learning Management Systems (LMS). Incorporate specialized instructional strategies for students with disabilities or special educational needs to ensure equitable access to learning. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing and ongoing assessments. Create a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation, respectful communication, and positive behavior management. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and integrating learning technology to enhance educational outcomes. Provide tutoring sessions or additional support for students requiring extra assistance in literacy education, math, or other core subjects related to language learning. Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral observations to inform instruction and communicate progress with parents or guardians. Qualifications Proven classroom experience teaching Mandarin Chinese at various levels, including private school or Montessori settings preferred. Strong knowledge of curriculum development principles and familiarity with LMS platforms for digital instruction. Experience working with children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or requiring special education accommodations. Expertise in classroom management techniques that foster a positive learning environment conducive to language acquisition. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues in a multicultural setting. Knowledge of childhood development principles relevant to language learning stages. Skills in lesson planning that incorporate literacy education, writing skills, and integration of learning technology tools. Ability to prepare students for standardized testing while promoting holistic language proficiency. Background in working with children in childcare or library services is advantageous. Familiarity with teaching methodologies such as Montessori or other child-centered approaches is a plus.
